David is a graduate student in the European Studies program at the University of Virginia, where he is focusing on the evolving dynamics of voter behavior in Western Europe. His research explores how populist rhetoric, particularly anti-immigration sentiments, has shaped electoral outcomes and political landscapes in recent years.
Last fall, David studied at Queen’s University Belfast, immersing himself in the comparative politics of the United Kingdom and gaining firsthand insight into how national identity and migration issues influence policy debates. Drawing on his time abroad and multilingual proficiency in English, Spanish, and French, David’s academic pursuits are informed by a global perspective and an interdisciplinary approach.
David’s current research seeks to analyze the interplay between populist movements and public opinion, aiming to understand how anti-immigration narratives affect democratic institutions and societal cohesion across Western Europe. With plans to continue examining these trends in depth, he is particularly interested in how these shifts impact international relations and governance within the European Union.
