Emma Krasnopoler was a graduate of the European Studies program at the University of Virginia. She previously earned a B.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University where she specialized in sustainable development and energy policy. At UVA, Emma explored the history of cultural heritage of Europe and its role in defining memory, promoting tourism, and transforming states’ power. Her M.A. thesis was entitled, “Chateaux as Sites of Heritage and Hegemony: An Exploration of Power, Discourse, and Dissonance Within France’s Heritage Regime.” Emma became the first student outside the School of Architecture to earn a Certificate in Historic Preservation. She currently lives in Strasbourg, France.
