Allison Buehler is a graduate student pursuing an M.A. in European Studies and a Fourth Year Student in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is a double major in French and in Anthropology with a Concentration in Culture and Communication. She is also a German Minor. Allison is particularly interested in European languages and speaks French, Spanish, German, and Portuguese fluently. She is extremely involved in her extracurriculars, and she is currently the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society. In addition to her extracurriculars, Allison is the Program Assistant  Her current research interests include secularization and education in France, belonging, and marked and unmarked identities. Her past research has dealt with linguistic anthropology, national memory, cruelty, identity, and the importance of names.  She plans to study abroad in Lyon, France during the fall semester of 2023.
